lifestyle // hannah

dear readers,

meet my very sweet friend hannah, or as i fondly call her, "hannah banana." never have you met two more opposite friends, and yet somehow, we click. she is an empowering feminist, i'm a conservative traditionalist - and yet, we both have a heart to see women be all that they can be, in the healthiest way possible. our personalities are all kinds of extremes, and yet there is such balance in our time together.

we met way back when in first grade, but i won't tell you the whole story because it really doesn't bring out my best self. needless to say, we were arch enemies all through elementary school (you know how dramatic little girls can be ;]), didn't see each other at all in junior high, and then reconnected in high school only to become the closest of friends. four years after graduation, and now we're headed into our last semester of college. ohmygosh the time just flies. through it all though, every single conversation i've had with this girl has brought me so much joy. she is thoughtful, so smart, funny, and i have seen her confidence soar in the last few years. from world traveler to bay area babe and NYC nut, this girl's heart is always at home with her friends.

i'm about to cry.

it is just so amazing how quickly time passes, how much we all change, and yet how constant things remain too - especially friendship. she is one of the closest and i am abundantly and overwhelmingly blessed by this lovely young woman.

hannah banana, you are going to do great things, i just know it.

 happy, happy friday you guys!

sweet family // the heffernan's

i have totally fallen off the blog train, but for the sake of TONS more work, and for that i'm so thankful! i am so excited about the end of this year and the few goals i still have to accomplish, and then the start of a FRESH new year!

when andrea of He Calls Me Wifey contacted me to take christmas photos for her and dave, i almost died. and then she started coming up with these brilliant ideas - bicycles, books, coffee, blankets - and then i really started getting excited. it is a dream to work with clients who are brimming with creative ideas.  not only is andrea one of the most stunning people i know, but she and dave are also hilarious - they were such a huge JOY to work with!

dave and andrea - thank you for all of your encouragement and excitement over these photos. you guys totally rock!

sweet family // the foster family

guys, i cannot even begin to tell you how i excited i was about this shoot. Scott, Erica, and their sweet baby girl have become really special people to T and i in the last year, and i am so grateful for their friendship, encouragement, and support in our life. next to Jesus, they have probably helped us grow the most in the last year, and every minute of it has rocked my socks off.

when Erica asked me to shoot their family photos, my little self got so so so excited. like, so excited. when they showed up at the park, the first words out of their mouths were, 'we're really not good picture takers.'

oh, please.

i am seriously over the moon about these images. what a fun, fun afternoon we had!

when baby Claire woke up, she was ALL smiles for dad - what a delight! p.s. these were the first 'father-daughter' photos these two took - THAT makes me happy!

oh this girl, she is the sweetest.

thank you, foster family, for being such a delight and joy to work with!
